Problem
The client approached us with the goal of creating a mobile app dedicated to ordering meals from favorite restaurants and cafes. Our task was to design a mobile app that encompasses categorized dish selections, detailed descriptions, and a seamless online payment option.
Solution
In response to the client's brief, our team designed an app that facilitates effortless food ordering from a variety of dining establishments. The application enables users to easily select their preferred restaurant, choose from categorized menu options, and complete their orders with immediate payment processing. The app is thoughtfully designed with both light and dark mode options for user preference.
Visual design
To create a visually engaging app, our design team carefully selected a vibrant color palette to enhance the user experience. We selected Clash Display typography to provide clarity and a contemporary look. Our team also designed custom icons to improve navigation and reinforce the app's branding.
Scope of work
Research & Discovery
Our design process began with a comprehensive exploration of the client's vision and requirements. Once we understood the vision, we conducted competitor analysis to identify industry benchmarks and audience analysis to align with user expectations in the restaurant and cafe sector. By uncovering valuable insights, we laid a strong foundation for designing an app that meets market demands and delivers a seamless ordering experience.
Wireframing
Following the research phase, we developed detailed wireframes for each page of the application. This step involved mapping out the user journey from menu selection to payment confirmation, allowing us to visualize the flow of interactions within the app. By creating a clear structure, we ensured that users would experience a logical and intuitive navigation process, which is crucial for enhancing user satisfaction in food ordering apps.
UI Design
Following the establishment of the app's core structure through wireframing, we transitioned to the UI design phase. At this stage, we transformed the app's framework into dynamic and visually appealing interfaces by focusing on cohesive color schemes, modern typography, and user-friendly layouts. The design ensures clarity, simplicity, and an engaging user experience for seamless food ordering.
Logo Design
In addition to the app's UX/UI design, we developed a logo that highlights the name of the app, aligning with the client’s preference for simplicity. The clean typography emphasizes readability, while the use of contrasting colors ensures the logo is distinctive and visually engaging. This design captures the essence of the app, making it memorable and easy to associate with its purpose.
Clickable Prototype
To conclude our design process, we developed a clickable prototype that allowed the client to interact with the app before development began. This enabled the client to experience key functionalities firsthand and provide valuable feedback on usability and design. By incorporating this feedback early in the process, we ensured the final product met client expectations.
UX/UI Design
To ensure a comprehensive user experience for the app, we created over 17 wireframes that illustrated key interactions, from the welcome screen through to menus and payment processes. This robust set of wireframes provided an essential visual roadmap, enhancing clarity and usability within the app's design.
