Challenges and solutions
Problem
The client aimed to build a user-friendly and robust project management tracking application. Our mission was to design an all-in-one SaaS app that facilitates visualization, control, optimization, and efficiency enhancement for projects.
Solution
In response to the client's requirements, we designed a robust project management tracking app tailored to streamline project planning, execution, and tracking processes. Our solution empowers teams to customize workflows and efficiently manage projects of varying sizes and complexities.
Visual design
To establish a clear and functional visual identity for the app, we selected a color palette that prioritizes user efficiency. This palette incorporates complementary tones that promote visual clarity while maintaining a professional aesthetic. Additionally, we designed a comprehensive set of custom icons and implemented the Manrope typeface to enhance user interaction and searchability within the app.
Scope of work
Research & Discovery
Our design process began with a deep dive into the client's vision. To ensure a comprehensive understanding, we also conducted thorough competitor research to identify existing solutions and potential gaps in the market. Additionally, we performed an audience analysis to understand the user personas and their unique needs. This comprehensive research phase laid the groundwork for a user-centered design that effectively addressed the target audience's pain points and workflow preferences.
Wireframing
Leveraging the insights gleaned from the research phase, we crafted wireframes for the app. These wireframes served as a blueprint, outlining the arrangement of key elements like task lists, project overviews, and the ever-important Gantt chart. This visual representation allowed us to establish a clear information hierarchy and define user interactions within the app. By iteratively refining the wireframes, we ensured a logical and intuitive flow for managing projects within Needly.
UI Design
With the wireframes as our guide, we translated the user experience concepts into visually appealing and user-friendly user interfaces. Our designers skillfully crafted the app's visual language, incorporating elements such as color schemes, typography, and iconography that aligned with industry standards and the client's branding guidelines. The result was a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing design that enhanced the overall usability of Needly.
Adaptive Design
To ensure seamless functionality across various devices and screen sizes, we implemented an adaptive design approach. Our designers optimized the app's layout and interface elements to provide a consistent and responsive experience, whether accessed from desktops, tablets, or mobile phones. This adaptive design strategy ensured that Needly would be accessible and user-friendly for all users, regardless of their device preferences.
Clickable Prototype
To validate our design approach and gather valuable feedback, we developed an interactive, clickable prototype of the app. This prototype allowed the client to experience the app firsthand, navigating through its features and functionalities as if it were a fully-fledged product. Based on the client's feedback, we made necessary adjustments and refinements, ensuring the final design met his expectations and requirements.
UX/UI Design
To comprehensively map user journeys within the app, we developed a series of wireframes encompassing the entire project lifecycle. These wireframes meticulously detailed the user flow, from the initial creation of a project to the ongoing monitoring of progress through a visual Gantt chart.
